The media is always trying to numb our thinking. They don't care about anything beyond getting you to read and scoring your eyeball. This, alas, is yet another fallacy in the long list, for greed-driven economic philosophy (read capitalism). But let us not go there. Not today. Not now at least. Let's toast to our special guest here (mmmmm)
How about I come up with another example? Nirbhaya? Ha! Her appearance is a great suspense to us all. But I am willing to bet she wasn't much of a looker (not meaning this in a mean-spirited way). Just imagine, if she happened to be not so beautiful (maybe she was, god bless her .. or not ... why just because of her looks?) and if they had splashed her picture everywhere -- would not have the matter frizzled? How many such cases have you read about over the years? Why the big outcry now? Some have suggested her profile -- of a young and bright college student -- who would fit into any middle-class shoes. They have taken pains here, clearly..
Was there any "case" that didnt make it inspite of Ms. Beautiful's involvement? There probably are some. There is of course no absolute truth. But the fact is, if you want to sell your view, recruit Ms. beautiful and/or fantasyfull and your job will likely be done
A last few words about Devyani - the Indian diplomat STRIP-searched (go imagine). Since she looks so young I would like to think that she is the inexperienced thief who did a lousy job and didnt keep any escape hatch. The real crooks always get away. A pity, actually. A beautiful backlash but at least I got to enjoy her pics
